The Central Okanagan Charitable Gaming Association has worked with local not-for-profit groups since 2004.
We assist groups by providing information from the BC Gaming Branch and other partner organizations – we conduct workshops for not-for-profit groups which plan to apply for gaming grant funding or have questions about the application process.
We work one-on-one with organizations and help explain the provincial charitable gaming grant guidelines, assist in making connections to the Gaming Branch in Victoria, speak to applicants about denied grants, and provide general assistance.
We are active in our community, reaching out to organizations which need assistance in either funding or governance, and help with connections that amplify their work in the community..
The COCGA works with its collegiate community charitable gaming grant associations (CCGAs) throughout the province, from the north, on the Island, and in the lower mainland.
Much of our work is assisted by the BC Association for Charitable Gaming, the province-wide umbrella organization which assists CCGAs and works closely with the Gaming Branch in Victoria as well as the Vancouver Foundation, Vantage Point, SPARC, and advocates for policy changes with the provincial ministries with oversight of both gaming funds and the not-for-profit sector.
To request assistance in preparing a gaming grant application or specific questions to do with charitable gaming, please contact our COCGA coordinator, Caroline Miller.

A tremendous resource toward our education.
Thanks again for the support and insight. I value it.
It’s great that non-profits are reaching out to the gaming association based on your webinar, and that provides a terrific opportunity for the association to connect with the non-profits one-on-one and gather any information they need to provide assistance.
Thanks for the quick response. Many sports are in need of guidance due to turnover. Your suggested workshop questions are perfect, right in our wheelhouse vis-à-vis what we are hearing.
Thanks for your assistance.

I wanted to follow up and say thanks, again, for the support in Opera Kelowna’s gaming grant request this year. I’m pleased to share that we improved our overall funding from the Community Gaming Grant by about 30%. This makes a huge difference to the organization and I’m incredibly grateful for the time you took to help me strategize and prepare the application this year.
